The
Hudson
Valley SPCA
is a no kill
shelter and
even though
we have high
adoption
rates, we
currently do
not have the
space,
staff, or
funding
resources to
take in all
the animals
that need
our help.
Each year,
we aim to
increase our
capacity and
promote
spay/neuter
programs to
decrease
stray
populations.
There are a
large number
of stray
animals,
abused
animals, and
neglected
animals in
Orange
County.
These are
the animals
that require
our
immediate
attention
and the
mission of
the HVSPCA
is to
provide to
them as much
medical and
behavioral
attention as
needed.
As a service
to the
community
that
supports our
continuing
success, we
are able to
take in
a companion
animal from
its current
guardian on
a limited
basis
depending on
available
space.
What we can
immediately
offer to
those
looking to
surrender a
companion
animal is a
spot on our
waiting list
which means:
the animal
will be posted on
our
Virtual Shelter, added to
our internal
database
which
uploads to Petfinder.com,
and promoted
on our
website,
Facebook
page, and
Twitter
account. We
make every effort to
accommodate
the guardian
and animal
in their
time of
need. |
Need to
Surrender
Your
Companion
Animal?
Please send
an email to
hvspca@yahoo.com
with a
picture,
description
(including
age, breed,
temperament,
and if
spayed/neutered),
and the
reason for
surrendering.
If you
require
immediate
attention,
please call
the Hudson
Valley SPCA
at (845)
564-6810.
Please be
aware that a
standard
surrender
fee may
apply for
immediate
surrenders.
A donation
is greatly
appreciated
for any
surrender
that is
accepted
into the
shelter and
will help
the HVSPCA
offset the
cost of
caring for
that animal. |
